Mini

a promotional editorial

Disegno Magazine worked with Mini to write a story on the design installation Mini Living: Do Disturb, which was shown at the design fair Salone Del Mobile in Milan this year. Mini worked together with the Japanese architecture studio ON Design and the engineering firm Arup to create an alternative design of cohabitation in a limited space.

Tack Studio co-ordinated with Disegno to write and publish the story in issue #11. Oliver Stratford, Deputy Editor of Disegno and Head of editorial for Tack Press, interviewed the collaborating designers for the in-depth story on the project written by Camilla Sterne. The well-researched story stretched over four pages, with photographs taken by Italian photographer Mario Ermoli who is a good friend of Disegno.

The interior of Mini Living: Do Disturb

Mini is a car brand with an interest in space-saving design solutions. Mini Living: Do Disturb was a 30 square metre apartment designed to include creative methods of space-saving and cohabitants. Its minimalist wooden walls and drawers could be moved to create alternative usage of space within the room. The idea behind the design was to discuss urban living in contemporary cities, and new ways to collaborate in making use of limited space.
